Bag-in-box packaging, often referred to as BiB, originated in the 1950s and was developed by William R. Scholle. It is a form of packaging that consists of two main components: a tear-resistant plastic bag and a sturdy outer packaging made of corrugated cardboard.

Nevertheless, stainless steel KEGs are ahead in terms of sustainability. These KEGs not only have a service life of up to 30 years or more. They are therefore part of a sustainable circular economy. And even when the day comes when they can no longer be used for drinks, they can be 100 per cent recycled - without any loss of material quality!
The fact that a stainless steel KEG is used for many years means that less waste is produced and resources are conserved. As a reusable system, KEGs are a more environmentally friendly option, as they reduce the need for disposable packaging and therefore also have a positive impact on a more sustainable environment.
Bag-in-box packaging is mainly used for wine and juices. This form of packaging is particularly practical for events such as garden parties and barbecues where larger quantities of drinks are required.
Stainless steel KEGs, on the other hand, are more versatile and are valued in the wine and beverage industry. They offer optimum conditions for storing and transporting a wide variety of beverages.
